What are Xtra Kleen scent boosters?

Xtra Kleen Scent Booster Beads are in-wash laundry beads that add fragrance to a wash cycle. They come in 300g packs in Floral Bloom (item 322664), Lavender Fields (322671) and Ocean Breeze (326792). They are a fragrance product — they do not replace detergent or fabric softener.

Beads are added to the empty drum before the clothes, not into the detergent drawer, so they dissolve through the whole cycle.

How many washes do I get from a 300g pack of scent beads?

It depends on the dose you use rather than a fixed number. A 300g pack holds roughly 15 washes at a full 20g cap, or around 30 washes at a light 10g dose. Use less for small loads and more for towels, gym gear and bedding.

What sizes does Xtra Kleen laundry powder come in?

Xtra Kleen laundry powder comes in 500g and 2kg packs, in Floral Bloom and Lavender Fields. Item numbers are 289035 (500g Floral), 289042 (500g Lavender), 289127 (2kg Floral) and 289134 (2kg Lavender). A 2kg Floral Scent tub (284245) is also available.

What is the difference between toilet gel discs and rim blocks?

Gel discs are stamped directly onto the clean, dry bowl and dissolve away over several days, leaving nothing to remove. Rim blocks sit in a plastic cage that hooks over the rim and is replaced when the block is used up. Discs suit rimless and modern bowls better.

Is Xtra Kleen safe for sensitive skin?

We do not make a sensitive-skin claim on the range. Laundry and cleaning products can irritate sensitive skin, so check the directions and warnings on the pack, run an extra rinse cycle if you react to fragrance, and speak to your doctor about specific skin conditions before use.

Are Xtra Kleen products safe for septic systems?

We do not publish a blanket septic-safe claim. Septic suitability varies by product and by system, and bleach-based cleaners in particular should be used sparingly with a septic tank. Ask us for the Safety Data Sheet for the item you are using before adding it to a septic routine.

Can I mix Xtra Kleen bleach spray with other cleaners?

No. Never mix a bleach-based cleaner with ammonia, acidic cleaners or descalers — the combination can release hazardous gas. Use Bleach Power Cleaner Multipurpose Spray 500ml (item 324217) on its own, in a ventilated room, and rinse a surface before switching products.

How do I use laundry scent beads?

Tip the beads straight into the empty drum before you load the clothes, then add detergent as usual and run the cycle. Use about half a cap for a small load and a full cap for towels or bedding. Never put beads in the detergent drawer — they can clog it.

How do I apply a toilet gel disc?

Clean and dry the area under the rim first, then press the applicator against the bowl wall and hold for a few seconds until the gel stamp releases. Place it where flushing water runs over it. One stamp typically lasts several days depending on how often the toilet is flushed.

How much laundry powder should I use per wash?

Follow the scoop guide on the pack: a standard load in soft water needs less than a heavily soiled load or a hard-water area. Overdosing leaves residue in fabrics and in the machine; underdosing leaves greying. Add powder to the drawer or drum before the clothes.

How do I stop my washing machine smelling musty?

Run a hot maintenance wash on empty every month, leave the door and detergent drawer open between washes, wipe the rubber door seal dry, and take laundry out as soon as the cycle finishes. Damp left inside the drum is what feeds the musty smell.
